After confirming our reservation we were able to coordinate via text to confirm the morning details. It is one of the few touring companies that allows children under five years old and they were more than welcoming to our two year old and six month old children. Tuna tuna has amazing staff and we were able to spend our day with Lorenzo and Sophia. Both were quick to be helpful with our children and Sophia literally gave her own jacket for our six month old when it grew windy. It was a cloudy day so we had a hard time finding whale sharks but both Lorenzo and Sophia were patient and we were able to find the whale sharks and have a great experience! Sophia speaks great English and gave a thoughtful and educational talk before getting in the water. It was not a fearful experience but was so fun. I felt safe and felt like the whale sharks were also being treated safely as there are strict regulations in place to ensure eco friendly tourism. Would happily book again!

We originally wanted to do the whale shark experience, but due to COVID, the permits were not to the companies in time... read more of when we wanted to do our trip. So instead Juan Carlos took us to Isla Espiritu Santo (He arranged that with us in advance. It was not a surprise to us when we got there.) Just one note of advice, when putting the address into google maps, it will take you to the wrong street. We were one street to the west instead of being at the marina. It made us late, but Juan Carlos was awesome about it. He helped us get all of our items out of the car and onto the boat. Our crew for the day were Sofie and Lorenzo. Both of them were awesome! The majority of our group was kids and both of them were so good to them. We were able to go swimming with sea lions and then we went to two different beaches to play. This place is beautiful! We would definitely recommend Tuna Tuna Tours for this trip. We will be back in a few years to do the whale shark experience and we will look them up to take us out for the day.

Stephanie was our tour guide - she was excellent at explaining the itinerary for the tour, the Mexican government’s regulations and rules for whale shark tours, the biology and habitat of the whale sharks. She was so prepared with snorkels, fins, and wetsuits for everyone. She was very efficient but patient and had a great energy with everyone. Juan Carlos was our captain - he made the trip safe and calm - the water was pretty smooth that day, so the wake wasn’t bad anyways, but he also helped the passengers climb back into the boat after they were done swimming with the whaleshark and he was an expert at placing the boat in a great position to swim near the whale shark.

This tour company is SO organized. Excellent staff. Excellent explanation of the whale shark and the regulations, excellent snacks for the guest, great equipment and great captaining. They had the tour videos emailed to us very fast and they’re great quality.

My only small suggestion is putting a BIG “TUNA TUNA TOURS” sign at the road intersection where the marina is so you can see from the road that this marina is home to Tuna Tuna Tours. Everything else was perfect!

The price of the tour for the high quality and value of experience you receive is excellent.
