IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The 2023-2024 Whale Shark season started on November 26th with a limited number of boats. There are an average of 8 Whale Sharks in the area, so the authorities will only allow 8 boats per turn at a time, and there are 4 turns each day. The meeting times for each turn are 7 am, 9 am, 11:30 am or 1:30 pm. For the 1st and 2nd turn, the dynamic to ask for a turn works like this: The day before the tour at 3 pm, all the permit holders ask for a turn through WhatsApp and if we are lucky enough to be one of the first 12 messages that the authorities receive, then we have a secure spot for the following day on either the 1st turn (7 am) or 2nd turn (9 am). They assign the turns in the order in which they receive the messages. If we don’t get into the 1st or 2nd turn, then we have to ask for a chance to get on the 3rd (11:30 am) or 4th turn (1:30 pm) the following morning at 7 am. We cannot guarantee that we will get a turn or which turn we will get until after the turns are assigned each day. We will get in contact with you via e-mail or text message to let you know if we get a turn and which turn we get. Whenever there are more Whale Sharks in the area, the authorities will allow more boats per turn, up to 14 boats at a time.
So please, consider this to plan ahead your schedule for the day.
